Marvel Universe coming... in 2012

Marvel Universe is on course for release in 2012, says a Marvel exec.

The date was set by Marvel's president of worldwide consumer products, Simon Philips.

"It sounds like a long way away, but it's not," he said. "We've got to create, together with [game publisher] Gazillion, that environment that is going to be a totally immersive experience and a perpetual storytelling experience as well."

Well, three years is a fairly long way off. Here's hoping it'll be worth the wait because the idea is bursting with potential...
