World at War is goriest Call of Duty to date

Producer explains that Treyarch strived for realism with its war.
The senior producer of Call of Duty: World at War has told OXM that it's the goriest Call of Duty game to date.

Senior producer Noah Heller was explaining to OXM that certain scenes were actually cut from the war FPS because they were too gory.

"There are scenes that just weren't appropriate at the end of the day," he says. "We felt, okay, this was across the line now. The earliest scene that raised so much discussion was the very beginning of the game. You get your throat slit or if you don't get your throat slit, your team-mate gets his throat slit. So we said you know what, let's make a line in the sand. This needs to be a different kind of war game."

We then ask if it's the goriest game in the series to date. "Sure," Heller replies.

Check back next week to read the interview in full where he also discusses how Treyarch feels about Call of Duty 3's reception, what they thought of Call of Duty 4 and some cool little extras...
