Legendary producer John Garcia-Shelton admits that Spark Unlimited's previous effort, Turning Point: Fall of Liberty, didn't come up to scratch against other FPS titles.

In an exclusive interview with OXM, he gives an honest assessment of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty when asked if the team were surprised by the critical reception it received.
"Yes but even before we heard the responses it was a disappointment to the Turning Point Team," he replies. "The Turning Point team worked so hard to make that game as good as it could be with the priorities they had. I watched that team work their asses off to keep on their milestones goals which were about the game being ready for its ship date.
We all hoped it could do well because the game has some creatively strong ideas and powerful sequences but we always worried that the game was not going to be competitive with titles built on two, three or four times the budget - everyone was surprised by Codemasters' front line retail pricing strategy - but even then no one thought it would be critically slammed quite so hard."
