Wednesday 13-Aug-2008 10:49 AM Boll's new film on parade. Gore from Capcom. If you're wondering why Ubisoft would ever let infamous director Uwe Boll make a movie of Far Cry, it's quite simple. Boll picked up the rights to numerous games including BloodRayne, Dungeon Siege and Alone in the Dark long before he gained a reputation for making terrible films.
Allegedly, they were quite cheap to acquire too, probably because very few studios were interested in producing game tie-ins at the time.
Boll's Far Cry looks pretty dreadful, although we're still interested in seeing it out of morbid curiosity. The film stars German actor Til Schweiger, Canadian beauty Emmanuelle Vaugier (Lex Luthor's fiance in Smallville) and creepy-eyed B-movie icon Udo Kier.

Far Cry's new poster reminds us a lot of the image used to promote Die Hard 4. Apparently, the movie is getting a theatrical release on September 11 via 20th Century Fox, but probably only in Germany. Expect it to go straight to DVD in the UK.
Another game tie-in to get the poster treatment is Capcom's upcoming Clock Tower movie. Although we're not 100% sure that this poster is legit, it's still pretty striking. It reminds us of old video nasty VHS cases from the 80's. Clock Tower, based on the survival horror series is still a long way off and hasn't started shooting yet, but this has definitely peaked our interest.
