Prince of Persia: Sands of Time has overtaken Tomb Raider to become the biggest videogame movie of all time.

While Prince of Persia hasn't burned up the box-office in the US, it has proved immensely popular overseas, reports Box Office Mojo.
In total it has taken $293.6 million, putting it ahead of Tomb Raider's $274 million. And that's before the DVD release has even hit the shelves.
In other words, expect a sequel. Talk of a sequel was framed in the usual if-it's-a-success context before the movie was released. Now it clearly has proved successful, expect talk of a second Prince of Persia movie to flare up soon.
