While the Activision vs ex-Infinity Ward chiefs legal battle rumbles on, there's another Call of Duty title being cooked up behind the scenes.

That would be Call of Duty 7, rumoured to be set in Vietnam, which Activision confirmed is currently in development at Treyarch's studio. Here's Call of Duty 7 - What We Know So Far.
That's all the information anyone has right now, as Treyarch has ensured that no news about the game has leaked out at all. At all. So where does this leave the game? Only Treyarch knows but here are five things we'd like to see eventually make it in...
Multiplayer Beta
The easy way of ensuring a relatively smooth ride on launch day would be having a multiplayer beta beforehand. Modern Warfare 2's multiplayer was riddled with glitches and balance problems that a beta wouldn't necessarily have solved (how could anyone have predicted Akimbo 1887s being that powerful?) but it would definitely help.
Saved Replays
One of the cool features of Modern Warfare 2 was seeing the winning kill, which often made their way into various YouTube videos showing crazy kills involving knives, javelins or whatever else. The feature should be built upon Halo 3 style, so you don't miss out on those I-wish-someone-had-sent-that moments. Saving replays should be a minimum, sharing them would be icing on the war cake.
Air-Based Attacks
The Call of Duty series has exhausted almost every attack option available on the ground. Soldiers popping out of the ground, jumping out of vans, pouring out of alleyways, abseiling down buildings... but what about enemy attacks from the air? It's something the series hasn't really explored to date besides dumping you behind a chopper mini-gun and could add some extra spectacle.
Horde Mode
Treyarch has been down this route before with Nazi Zombies, then Infinity Ward decided to carve its own path with Special Ops instead. We expect Treyarch will bring some form of Horde Mode back, given the huge success of Nazi Zombies, the ensuing DLC and the industry's trend towards a Horde mode in pretty much every game where it can possibly fit.
Custom Multiplayer Models
A minor addition but it would be a nice one anyway. Ever wondered how the multiplayer models are selected? We have. It's clearly to do with the weapon layout but it's something that has never been explained. So they should explain it. Or let us pick our own multiplayer model. It's all good. Just no more generic man-in-shades-but-we-don't-know-why nonsense!
What are your ideas for the next Call of Duty 7? Would you like to see the dogs killstreak make it back in? Maybe the CQC style encounters that were found in Call of Duty 3? What do YOU want? Let us know in the comments!
