First Avatar clothing unlocks go live

Splosion Man clobber now available
The first Avatar clothing unlocked by playing a game has gone live. Those who unlocked items by playing Summer of Arcade release Splosion Man can now grab the clothes from the Customize Avatar screen.

It's a slightly technical "first" because Lips: Number One Hits has the same feature and came out last week. But Splosion Man had the feature since its launch in the summer; it's only now that you've actually been able to access them.

You'll need to update the game first by loading it and accepting the mandatory install. There's then an Achievement-style 'toast' popup telling you you've unlocked an Avatar award.

You can then find it in the Awards section of the Avatar Editor on My Xbox, or added to the normal clothing lineup - marked with an extra symbol to note its status.

We've taken some screenshots below showing the T-shirt that male Avatars get; girls get a sweatshirt. There's another Big Science T-shirt available, but we haven't completed the multiplayer mode required to unlock it.

You can also view them by pressing the Guide button and flicking over to the Games Tab, then choosing Awards. Currently, not having played Number One Hits, there's only Splosion Man on the list; but expect a few more games to arrive before the end of the year. There's one rather cool one in a game we've reviewed in our next issue, in fact...
