Until this weekend, Infinity Ward was doing a solid job keeping a lid on Modern Warfare 2 leaks and rumours. However, it seems that someone in France has acquired a leaked copy of the game and has 'revealed' a new third-person multiplayer mode.
The video was added to YouTube, claiming that it's from a new third-person mode. Screenshots have also been released purporting to show in-game menus listing "Third Person Cage Match."
The story was later confirmed by Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling, who explained to Joystiq that it's a specific game mode that can force third-person perspective on playlists in private matches.

"It's not something you can toggle on and off in ANY game," he told the site. "The special mode can only be played in private matches -- toggled on or off just like "Hardcore" settings -- or in playlists that are designated for third-person play."
He also advised, via Twitter, that you should completely avoid all media if you want to enjoy the game spoiler-free. Having completed the game for our exclusive review next month, we think he's right - but you're going to have real trouble doing that, aren't you?
