No Master Chief in Halo 3: ODST

Bungie has told MTV Multiplayer that Halo 3: ODST will not feature Master Chief.

Halo 3: ODST has been billed as a prequel of sorts of the events of Halo 3, which led most fans to believe Master Chief wouldn't be putting in an appearance.

Now, that has been confirmed by Bungie themselves.

"Master Chief, at the time this game takes place, is actually off on other parts of the galaxy." explains Bungie's Brian Jarrard. "In this game, it's all about you playing the role of an ODST... the way the timelines work in this game, Master Chief is off doing something else."

So there you have it. No Master Chief. Now let's see if Bungie can prove that Halo can survive without its iconic hero...
