Next Tomb Raider movie will star younger Lara

Terminator Salvation producer Dan Lin has told About.com that the next Tomb Raider film will star a younger Lara Croft.

The idea is to 'reboot' the franchise, in a similar manner to the hugely successful Batman Begins or slightly-less-successful X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

"It's a great origin story that we're going to tell," says Lin, who also suggests the next Tomb Raider movie will be "very character-oriented" as he feels both the games and the films swung too much towards action. But following two dreadful films, can a Tomb Raider film ever be a success?

A younger Lara Croft also rules out the return of Angelina Jolie, so another question - and perhaps a more important one - is who'll be lacing up those famous boots when the cameras roll. We'll just have to wait and see.
