The range of the avatar creator in the New Xbox Experience fully tested.
With the New Xbox Experience due to drop in two days, a lot of the early attention will be on creating avatars.
Will you create a carbon copy of yourself? Try to create someone famous? Go as far out there as possible and push the avatar creation as far as it will go to see where the boundaries are? What are the boundaries for the avatar creator anyway?
To give you a quick taster of what to expect, here are some avatars we quickly knocked together to show off what's possible...
Make Yourself
You start off by picking one of the automatically created avatars and tweak from there. It's important you pick the right sex for this bit because that will be the base sex that affects the clothing you wear, otherwise...
...this happens. If you want to create a guy wearing girl's clothing or girl wearing guy's clothing, then it's easy enough as the hairstyles and faces are the same whatever sex you choose, it's only the clothes that change.
The first port of call for any avatar creation system - Amy Winehouse! It captures everything that makes her who she is today, with the beehive do, slightly discoloured skin and wrinkles from stress.
A slightly poor attempt at Jimmy Carr, the only reason we made him was we noticed the 'Curtains' hairdo while scrolling through the list. There are plenty of hairstyles to choose from but only the colour can be tweaked and sadly, hair past shoulder length doesn't seem to be anywhere to be found.
A Mexican Elvis. Of course. There's a 'Dress Up' option which gives you two suits for now - the Morning Suit pictured - and no doubt room for more in the future.
The current set of options aren't too wild... you can create a bald guy with a boxer's nose and Spock ears but nothing too wild or outrageous just yet. It's also worth playing around with the Make-Up option, which lets you have stuff such as the scar over our eye.
Then, of course, there's skin colour. Although steering clear of Guitar Hero: World Tour's use-any-colour-you-want scheme, you can create a ghost white character with no eyebrows... it's one way of standing out from the crowd when NXE rolls around on Wednesday.
: 6976 So experiment! Play around, try stuff out, make your character taller, fatter, paler, trendier, weirder, spookier, freakier or just plain better than the rest. See what you come up with and send us your creations or any other good ones you spot on Wednesday!

If you take another look, the Avatars you have created bear striking resemblance to-
1- Phil Collins
3- Oscar Wilde (Jimmy carr Avatar)
4- Cheech Marin (morning suit)
5- Dr Evil/ Ernst Blofeld
6- Bald Billy Idol
Awesome!
