Is it too soon to bandy around the hallowed name of Fallout 4? Perhaps, according to the originator of the recent frenzy, Fallout 3 radio star Erik "Three Dog" Todd Dellums. Speaking to Chad Henshaw of the Fallout wiki, Dellums gave a brief discussion of reaction to this month's headline-making tweet, cautioning expectant fans that Bethesda's keeping the lid firmly clamped down for the moment.
"I let [Bethesda] know that fans were clamouring, trying to figure out if there's any chance that Three Dog would be back sometime," Dellums recalled. "And, you know, they let it slip that it looks like Three Dog will. And they said that, 'Well, maybe you could tell your fans.'
"I don't think they even anticipated it would explode like this."
Alas, it seems we shouldn't expect anything in the way of an official announcement for a while. "Unfortunately my lips have been sealed," Dellums went on. "They're very private people. They probably love the fact that on some level that the fans are clamouring. But I think they're digging too deeply now, and Bethesda's trying to keep things as secret as possible."
The second Dellums gets wind of anything, however, rest assured that he'll send it your way. "I keep telling people to follow me on Twitter and if they give me a bone, Three Dog will share that bone. I get little hints that I toss out there."
According to one rumour, Fallout 4 is set in Massachusetts. There may or may not be androids and freedom fighters. Your guess is as good as ours, right now, but given the lateness of the day, a next generation console release seems all but certain.
