I've been proud of the work I've done for the magazine, but as you might have noticed over the past few years my real passion has always been about making stupid stuff on the internet. With just a few hours left on the clock, I'd like to use my last moments at OXM to say a quick thanks to you guys.
The reactions we've had when dipping our toes into Youtube haven't always been as positive as we'd like, but the community that I've seen grow at OXM.co.uk has always been something I'm most proud of. We've always tried to make the kind of stuff that like-minded people would enjoy, but the rest of the situation was out of our hands.
There comes a point when you have to sit back, and just hope that the people you attract aren't awful. In this regard we've been massively lucky, gathering up a group of regulars who've made working for OXM far more fun. The collaborative Minecraft adventures of OXM Land made me feel ludicrously fuzzy inside, and I still feel massively guilty that I didn't notice the epic Dragon's Dogma forum thread that my initial nonsense with HOOOOBOY had started.
The encouragement and kind words have always been nice, but the support you've offered has felt invaluable too. The internet can sometimes be a pretty nasty place, and having a small hub of people sticking up for you when trouble pops up has been invaluable. Knowing that a core group of people don't think you're evil or totally corrupt has make the darker days easier to deal with, so cheers for keeping my spirits up. (If you end up hating Devil May Cry, feel free to hunt me down after returning your copy.)
Finally I'd like to include a quick word of thanks to Jonty for letting me make stupid owl videos, and Log for giving me incredible roles in episodes of the OXM Breakdown. Look after Edwin after I'm gone, he's an irreplaceable and frighteningly capable human. Special thanks also go to Pyro, Pwny, and Seiibutsu for doing an incredible job of maintaining our amazing Minecraft world.
Keep your eyes on the internet and you will see me soon, but for now it's goodbye from me at OXM. Thanks again guys, it's been brilliant fun.
