Controversy continues to bubble around Halo 4's Crimson Map Pack DLC, which was subject to delayed release last week, then eventually made freely available on a trial basis due to what Microsoft terms "complications" with the "14 Day, Buy and Play" offer. Apparently, some of those who downloaded now find themselves unable to access certain online features, prompting cries of unjust perma-banhammering. Woe unto the people! Woe unto the community managers!
"We are not permanently banning players for previewing or purchasing the Crimson Map Pack," it reads. "We are currently investigating the recent reports of permanent matchmaking bans. We will provide further updates tomorrow. Thank you for your patience."
The reports come at a bad time - Microsoft has just unveiled a global Halo 4 tournament, with 2,800 prizes up for grabs (including a UNSC-branded truck). Anybody affected? And how are you finding those Crimson Maps?
