Borderlands 2 trailer: turrets, electro-kills, cleavage... and a release date

Gearbox wows our eyeballs with new Borderlands footage

Jewel of Britain's south coast though Brighton undoubtedly is, with its many glorious beach-front arcades, I'd much rather be at home playing Borderlands 2. Sadly, we'll all have to wait till 18th September for the pleasure.

Gearbox has released a new trailer, which is three minutes long in meagre literal terms and around 100 billion lightyears wide in terms of pure, undiluted awesome-sauce. There will be ninjas, readers, and perky pink mountains, and there will be dual-wielding and jeeps and helicopters and fat people and splitscreen. And everything will look glorious.

Maya falls out with a man wielding a midget. Borderlands 2, how we love you.
Preorder and you'll get access to the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club, and thus a trio of bonus DLC packages. "The Gearbox Gun Pack is a collection of unique guns to help players begin their journey on Pandora," while "the Golden Key is an in-game item used to unlock a rare item in the mysterious Golden Sanctuary Loot Chest found in Borderlands 2.

Finally, "the Vault Hunter's Relic is an in-game item that boosts players' gear-hunting fortune while playing solo or teaming up with friends."

18th September, remember. Now if you'll excuse me, I've got some more seagulls to stare at.

  1. 96.5% More Wub Wub? I'm in! That trailer looked really good! Shotgun being Zero!

Also, for comabob; Day one, I agree, +1, I am going to buy this, I am looking forwards to this.

  2. I have got the first one and played it a bit.Couldn't really get on with it,don't know why.The last cell shaded game i finished and really enjoyed was XIII.

Apparently Gearbox said Borderlands isn't cell shaded, they just made it cartoony by putting black lines on everything, and the game is a bit boring if not played in the immensely fun co-op.

  4. I never got on with it either, although my girlfriend was obsessed with it. Might be because I tried it in co-op first and she was about 20 levels ahead of me and I got spanked by everything.

    You GoD'd it?

  10. I played Borderlands and the Zombie Island DLC all on my lonesome and loved it. It was the terrible Mad Moxxi DLC that spoiled it for me. :(

I downloaded the GOTY edition on steam.

  12. Ah was going to ask what price it was, it would probably be expensive like £15 or something.

  13. It's £14.99 on GoD, then there's the four DLCs for 800MSP each. The Classics version of the GOTY edition, which includes the DLCs, is £14.98 on Amazon right now. No brainer.

  14. Not a no brainer as I have the dlc already from the goty edition I used to own, but traded in. Don't worry, I'm not silly enough to buy off GoD, would have done if it was £8/half price sale or something.

  15. The non-GOTY edition is dearer than the GOTY, so you're screwed. Unless you want to risk pre-owned.

  16. To be honest it wasn't brilliant enough for me to want to buy it again, I'm more interested in the sequel as it looks to have improved in every way. I was just wondering if golli had bought it on GoD and why, was it dirt cheap or something? Obviously not now so I needn't bother with it.

  17. Only cost £6 and it is regularly on sale. I had tried it prior before on xbox 360.

  18. Bought the original and 100%-ed it - one of the best games of this generation by far. So unique and the style was amazing - I hear it was a bit dull going solo but I played it co-op split screen and absolutely adored it. Can't wait for the sequel, that trailer made me do a happy in my pants...

  20. I was well aware how much I was basically making a pointless 'I'm liking this' post so thought I'd go overboard for you after the post in that other thread.
