Mass Effect 3 DLC From Ashes hits Xbox Live early

Contains startling secret you may not want to read about

Honk if you hate spoilers! A piece of Mass Effect 3 downloadable content has appeared by mistake on Xbox Live Marketplace, revealing the existence of a secret character.

Before we get down to gutting the expansion's plot like a rogue Rachni, here's the official response care of BioWare's Mike Gamble. "We're happy to confirm that Mass Effect 3: From Ashes DLC will be available at launch for all platforms.

"For those of you who have purchased the N7 Collector's Edition (including the PC Digital Deluxe Edition), you will get this content at no extra charge. We'll have a lot more details for you later this week! Stay tuned."

The From Ashes DLC will not only "unearth lost secrets from the past" - it'll allow players to recruit a Prothean character to their crew. Boom, etc.

Mass Effect 3 is out in - crikey, not very long, now you mention it. 6th March in the US and 9th March in the UK.

    Well I spoilt the secret character bit a while back. At least now I know I will buy this DLC day one as I am getting the basic game.

    Is this a day one paid for DLC or is it in the box like Zaeed was in ME2? Sorry if the answers in the article but I'm a bit hard of thinking today :(

    It's only free if you get the N7 edition. Day one DLC is EA SOP, I don't know why anyone is surprised.

    To be fair I don't mind paying for this day one. I'd rather have the chance to buy it since I can't het N7 edition than missing out on it.

    At least you don't have to wait 3 months like some other games like the Robin dlc for Batman AC.

    not sarcasm, a prothean in mass effect is such a significant character and, they leave it out of the game and put it as dlc; its just money grabbing and wrong :/
