Battlefield 3 DLC reveal next week: EA promises "constant flow of content"

EA to drop details at New York event

EA's got another wodge of Battlefield 3 DLC on the way, following last year's much-hailed Back to Karkand expansion. Hooah.

Speaking during a quarterly conference call last night, president of investor relations Peter Ausnit promised "a constant flow of downloadable content".

"We've got plans for all of our major franchises to turn them into more of... games for service that have a constant flow of downloadable content," he said.

"You're going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we've got in New York."

Where would you like Battlefield 3's next DLC pack to be set? I've got a great idea: let's go back to Iran and give them another ridiculous reason for banning it. Put that in your pipe and smoke it, Tehran!

In unrelated news, Battlefield 3's core gameplay designer recently quit the team to work on unknown DICE projects. Possibilities range from a Battlefield 2142 sequel to Mirror's Edge 2 please Mirror's Edge 2 please Mirror's Edge 2 please.

  1. Sweeeeeeet!

Look forward to anything to do with BF3. Hopefully the DLC mentioned isn't set for release in the summer. That'll be too much of a tease!

  2. Hopefully it's free, I know the Karkand Maps are free but technically you have to pay for them and DICE said that they were still going to do free maps. I hope they get technical. Otherwise it's going to have to be vietnam style of different for me to pay because there's probably going to be ME3 dlc and I'd rather get that.

  3. Hopefully they will do what every battlefield fan boy wants...

Battlefield 2 MC DLC Back Stab, Bridge To Far, Weapons ect :D

That WOULD be quite a nice piece of content :D.

I seem to remember EA and Bioware saying the same thing about ME2 with the DLC being "constant" and it only got as far as "The Arrival" and before that, the cerberus network was closed down not long after that, no offence but they shouldn't say it'll be constant when they only release DLC for a game for about a year and a half. Then they move onto the next game.

  5. Snow maps please, with snow camo!

  6. So what day is this New York event, when can we expect juicy details?

  7. Right now... lol Nah I'd say tomorrow, as I read monday. I could be mixing my memory up though.
