We've come and gone on the idea of Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but whatever the consequences for the game itself, there's no denying Galaxy at War scrubs up nicely for trailers.
BioWare's latest audio-visual spume of alien-on-alien carnage takes you through the classes, races, weapons and powers you'll use online. In order to do this, of course, it has to take you through some of the enemies. Around rather, not through, because if there's one thing you don't do to a charging Elcor husk, it's meet the beast head-on. Unless you're a Krogan with a shotgun.
Our Mass Effect 3 countdown has begun - expect masses of feature coverage next week. Here are 11 planets you can't afford to miss and five ways Mass Effect is better with Kinect.

I knew this could be done well, but just because it looks good doesn't mean it is.
Oh no, you're not sucking me in that easily BW, you keep working hard on it to make sure it doesn't disappoint my Mass Effect-loving friend, because if you win him around, you've succeeded.
The demo should give some interesting insight into how this plays, nice to see a little Shep cameoing as well, though it's not like he's had to come far. Hopefully the classes will play very differently, and combining strengths to take down enemies will come into play too.

Well...I know what my girlfriend will be playing.
Nothing. But. Quarians.
Does look good, but I have to say Decent_Jam has a point. Looks can be deceiving, especially in trailers. Can't wait for the demo.

I have to say, this looks great - however, for me there is one glaring problem; this doesn't appear to be in-game footage, it appears to be a specially made video, and we all know how different videos can be when compared to the real game. Dead Island is probably the best example of how different a video can be to the real thing, great game, but nothing like the quality of the video.

Looks like it's been rendered using the game's engine to me. Maybe it's been rendered using a high-end PC and souped-up in post production, but it certainly originated from the game engine. I wouldn't say it's fair to compare it to the Dead Island trailer, which was a standalone cinematic that reflected nothing of the actual gameplay of the product. This video shows people shooting stuff, which has been quite a big part of Mass Effect thus far. It would surprise me if they took it out.

Wondering if classes are locked to species? Proberly not. I still want to customise my turian/drell too - all krogan, salarians and quarians look alike. And asari. And turians and drell come to think of it.

I'll give the multiplayer side of the demo a go. But apart from that i'll only play it for the achievements. Which it no doubt will have since EA/Bioware seem content on shoving this "optional" mode down our throats.
