Kinect Star Wars teaser surfaces, "more news soon"

LucasArts gearing up to announce release date?

LucasArts has thrown together a comedy Star Wars video to mark the impending release of Kinect Star Wars, starring revealingly named American celeb Chris Pratt.

No new game content is shown, but we're told to watch out for more "news coming your way soon". UK retailer Argos recently pegged the delayed title for a March release.

Kinect Star Wars was originally down to launch in holiday 2011, but Microsoft pushed the game back to spring 2012 in order to "ensure its full potential is realised". Wise move - we weren't too happy with the implementation when last we played it.

  1. i want this to be good! :( but i'm not feeling optimistic

  2. Only a (possible) few months from release and we are getting spoof videos rather than gameplay footage? Doesn't bode well does it?

  3. you think your powerful with your fnger neck pinches? you couldnt even get your son in to the family business!

  4. i don't care about the game as it's going to be piss i just want it released so i can get the console as my one's nearly dead
hopefully it'll be 5th time lucky

  5. I don't usually look forward to 'Kinect' game releases but this is one that I am actually looking forward to. I hope I am not disappointed but fear I may well be...

  6. The closer this gets to release, the less hopeful I am it will be any good. This video doesnt help. Yeah - as a spoof on YouTube it could be slightly amusing, but as an advert for a game that's been advertised over a year???

I have a feeling this game will be another one for the bargain bucket.

    :(

  7. I hate to pre-emptively dismiss this but as the disappointing Kinect releases pile up, I am becoming used to thinking - 'oh it's for the kinect, it's going to be a bit pants'.

  8. If it's awesome, it could well convert me to Kinect, but as many have suggested, it's not looking likely. We'll have to wait and see (what a terrible clichéd pain..)

To be honest - what I have seen of it looks quite good and certainly quite varied too. Light sabre and 'force' battles, Pod racing (and in duel screen), Rancor demolition... etc etc.

Just have to see how well it is all put together and how well it plays...

  10. I played this at westfields back in october in london when they were advertising kinect at the kinect booth for the holiday sales.
Very fun my friends and I were fighting in cloud city against droids, 2 player and it was brilliant, i can see why people would be a little critical of this game due to the recent kinect releases par dance central but, this was very responsive it did get confused when we were trying to throw a tank at some droids...but like I said this back in october and they wernt ment to let us play podracing but boy, im 17 now and honest to god. i felt like i was 4 again watching it at the cinema racing my friend, its a fantastic experience and its responsive, they have sold the pitch to me already...i just hope they can sell it to the people who are not as set on the idea of purchasing this game at day one but this is a game worth having for any lightsaber lovin' jedi hopeful star wars fanatic to own no matter the age.
