Tomb Raider release date likely to be after May

Lara Croft's latest goes alpha

Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider reboot is coming along nicely. According to senior producer Kyle Peschel and art director Brian Horto, the game is now at the "alpha" stage - that's to say, content-complete and playable from start to finish.

The new Tomb Raider loves physics puzzles. Lara was brainier in her youth.
As reported on The Silent Chief, via TVGB, the game will spend roughly two months in alpha, and a further two in beta (loosely speaking, the "beta" stage is devoted to polishing and balancing).

If Horto and Peschel are on the money with their estimates, the game should launch around May/June at the earliest, a stone's throw from Max Payne 3. 2. Yeah i have always liked this series.Might suffer though if it isn't going to be releasing until around same time as max payne.I reckon if i can't afford both i would go for max first.

  4. This is certainly one of the (announced) games I am most looking forward to in 2012. I like the look of the new 'Lara' and what I have seen of it so far. Although I hope it isn't riddled with QTE's...

  5. I'm still boycotting this game as a result of the reported lack of sex
