New SSX is "bigger than all previous SSX games combined"

That's a whole lot of mountain - new EA interview

Ah, SSX. You are the milk in our coffee, the cheese in our cheesecake. In addition to letting us trigger avalanches and customise wooden planks as many ways as there are guns in Borderlands, you've somehow justified the adoption of Crackdown 2's most worthwhile character upgrade.

We refer, obviously, to wingsuits. See them in action in the video below. Also in the video below, a talky man called Todd Batty. He's one of the talky men making SSX, and he's rather pleased with the results. We've seen nothing so far to suggest he shouldn't be.

But don't take it from me, the man pretending to be several people. Take it from our previewer, the wonderful Matthew Pellett. According to him, "the old SSX is finally back".

Tricky was the last GOOD SSX game. I played them all from Tricky onwards, and they gradually got worse (IMO). I can't wait to play this if the old SSX is back. Already pre-ordered from Amazon and Game so my Son and I can relive the old days.

  3. I had one of the SSX games on my ps2 but for reasons i can't remember i could never get into it, weird because i used to love 1080 on the 64, and even better was a game called 'Steep Slope Sliders' for my often laughed at Sega Saturn - so i'd like to like this very much as it's a type of game i haven't played (or enjoyed) in ages.

Wonder if the kind people at EA will drop us a demo...?
