Bleak future platformer Deadlight is Xbox Live exclusive

Explore the grim plight of an apocalypse survivor

Independent outfit Tequila Works has announced that its first game, Deadlight, will be published exclusively on Xbox Live Arcade.

The game's due out in summer 2012, and is a "cinematic puzzle platformer". Attached screenshots show an indistinct character in raggedy dress running through pine forests, boarded-up houses and fuel stations, contending with what appear to be living dead.

It's certainly an atmospheric little number, though the trappings are quite familiar.

Based in Madrid, the Tequila team's past credits include Blizzard Entertainment, MercurySteam Entertainment, Pyro Studios, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Triumph Studios and Weta Digital. They like to create "small tasteful things", apparently.

  1. Wow s/shots look very nice, next Shadow Complex?

  2. Looks like Limbo and Fallout mixed together (screen 2).

  3. I'll put on my 'hat of negativity' for this one then...

Think the phrase 'the trappings are quite familiar' sums it up perfectly. Very nice but feel like i've seen it many times before though. I'm happy to be proved wrong too but those screens look far too detailed and crisp to be in game 360!

I wonder when someone will invent a game where the future is a nice happy shiny place, at least on the outside, and build the story around that? (think demolition man?)

  4. Star Trek?
