12 days of Xbox Deals: Bastion 50% off

An Xbox Live deal a day from now to the end of the year

Major Nelson has kicked off the 12 Days of Xbox bargain run by hacking 50 per cent off Supergiant's action-RPG Bastion, a wonderful, wonderful game that you should rush out and buy immediately.

Each deal in the promotion is valid for one day only, so don't dawdle if you spot something you like.

New to Bastion? It's a quirky blend of the throwback and the innovative, set in the aftermath of a universe-destroying cataclysm. Levels are thrown together from lumps of paving stone, wrought iron and marble as you explore them, coalescing right under your feet (or not, if you make the wrong move).

Bastion deserves a sequel, but doesn't need one.
A narrator accompanies you on your journey to fix the world, responding dynamically to your every little action. Go in all-guns-blazing and he'll comment on it. Die repeatedly and he'll comment on it. The feature gives the world personality in a way massively better-resourced RPGs seldom manage.

Enough gushing. Download here. OXM's Bastion review has more.

  1. That is only one of the deals available (The deal of the day) that will change every day but there are others that will remain until January 2nd 2012

The list can be found here http://majornelson.com/2011/12/20/12-da ... box-deals/

I think I will keep my points until then (unless something special crops up on Deal of the day) but may have to get After Burner Climax - for purely nostalgic reasons (I spent a fortune on this and space harrier in the arcades) and only 400 ms points

  2. Holy plop, nearly spent full whack on Bastion at the weekend, good job my sloth sense kicked in and stopped me...

That's my main issue with buying stuff on live, think they should give you a 14 day price guarantee or something as i've been shafted by deals like this before. I suppose their counter argument could be 'no deals' but still :|

Good news though, like an excited little girl i am off to download and see what all the fuss is about - having seen and played the demo though i'm pretty sure i'll love it! The rest of the list is pretty uninspired from my own point of view, but suspect like black friday it'll get better each day.

I'll be without xbox after tomorrow until new year - anyone know if i can buy any of the deals via xbox.com and download them when back home? Would hate to miss out on something. Dragon age 2 dlc has to be discounted at some point. I like the look of the second one but flat out refuse to pay full price for it so would be gutted after keeping watch for a year if it popped up now! :D

  3. yes, I think you can, just go to the website and then buy your deals. the downloads will wait while you have no xbox and when your ready to return all the downloads will be there.

  4. New apps available today - 4OD, Demand 5 and Daily Motion have all been added :D

As Breezy says, you can. Go to the marketplace section of Xbox.com and download there. In theory they should start to download next time you turn on your 'box but I normally have to go into the download history and redownload anything I have bought like this, so just be aware if you can't find it when you come to play.
