Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 is UK all-formats number one for the week ending 26th November, marking the game's third consecutive week on top.
Sales are down 41 per cent, but Activision's shooter is still comfortably ahead of second place entrant Assassin's Creed: Revelations, which itself fell 61 per cent. Call of Duty's big rival Battlefield 3 lost only four per cent, but has to settle for ninth place.
Saints Row: The Third climbs a rung to third, swapping places with The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. Both games have lost momentum, THQ's pimp 'em up dropping 40 per cent while Bethesda's mammoth-basher shed 43 per cent.

On the new release front, WWE 12 makes the biggest debut at sixth (a 22 per cent rise on the 2011 game). Lord of the Rings: War in the North has a pretty hard landing at 38th.
Here's the all-formats top 10, care of UKIE and ChartTrack.
1. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Activision)
2. Assassin's Creed Revelations (Ubisoft)
3. Saints Row: The Third (THQ)
4. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim (Bethesda)
5. FIFA 12 (EA)
6. WWE 12 (THQ)
7. Professor Layton And The Spectre's Call (Nintendo)
8. Just Dance 3 (Ubisoft
9. Battlefield 3 (EA)
10. Super Mario 3D Land (Nintendo)

Battlefield 3 is behind Prof Layton? It doesn't get much more embarrassing than that!
Still, I'm not that surprised, I remain mostly disappointed with BF3.

Well MW3 is top so quality may not always equal the most sales...
On a positive note, Skyrim still selling strongly, deserves every sale it gets.

Your own reservations aside, Layton was released this week, BF3 has been out a month; most of the people that wanted BF3 already have it, surely?
EDIT
And considering Super Mario 3D land is the fastest selling portable Mario title ever and BF3 is still ahead of that suggests it is still selling well.

i think infinity ward pay people to make their game seem good. tonight i had 23 friends online, 20 of them (and some were in parties with people i dont know) were playing skyrim, 2 were on saints row and only 1 was on cod. just makes me suspicious lol

Hey so what if it's taken over, hopefully it'll remove all the terrible camping COD players off BF3. Don't get me wrong, I thought MW3 single player was brilliant and better than the poor attempt by BF3 but the multiplayer lacks freshness and feels like the same game i've been playing for the past 5 years.
On another note, Skyrim is bloody brilliant and so what if it's not number 1!

Long live the single player format. NOTHING is as scary as having a dragon circling overhead and being armed only with a pair of fur knicks and 'the voice' to defend yourself with. Bang, bang, bang, how boring is that. Standing from under!

Maybe if Battlefield was not the lazy, sloppy mess that it is it wouldn't be having so much trouble staying afloat in the charts.

Yep as a level 9 last night i spent most of it running away from Dragons and Trolls whilst roaming around the landscape. Made me laugh a few times, except for when i went in a cave full of golum type people... got royally messed up!
