If explorers of Skyrim's south-eastern frontier speak truth, Skyrim's timed Xbox exclusive DLC packs may take us back to the realms of Morrowind and Cyrodiil, settings for Elder Scrolls 3 and 4 respectively.
Foraging around Stendarr's Beacon, which lies on the border with Morrowind, one such adventurer discovered a path leading to a stone archway and an invisible wall. Using fiendish technical arts, he was able to penetrate beyond and discover scaled-down, low resolution models of Morrowind's Solstheim and Vvardenfell and Cyrodiil's Imperial City.
Bethesda has kept schtum on the subject of Skyrim DLC, with game director Todd Howard commenting only that there will be less of it, but that individual packs will be more "substantial". Marketing and PR boss Peter Hines has said that Bethesda doesn't believe in carving out content for DLC ahead of release.
Assuming those hidden locations are, in fact, on-disc DLC, it seems probable the first Elder Scrolls 5 expansions will give players the chance to explore how Skyrim's neighbours have aged in the time since previous games.
What do you want in your Skyrim DLC? A return to old stomping grounds, or a trip to pastures new? You may wish to refer to our Skyrim review and Log's feature 10 ways to make Skyrim an 11/10.
Here are eight things we want - and another eight we don't want - from our Skyrim DLC.

I thought Morrowind might be on the cards because on the loading screens when you get various bits of information up, I got a geographical factoid about the Red Mountain at the center of Vvardenfell which seemed a little too specific to be just an "interesting fact" particularly as the main game is set in Skyrim, nor did it fall under the auspice of historical lore which some of the loading screen entries cover.

I'd like to explore some more daedric realms, like Sheogorath's Shivering Isles for Oblivion. The daedric princes are fascinating.

I read the volcano thing too. Passing through Skyrim I've heard an awful lot about the summerset isles though. I think they're just name dropping everywhere in some way or another.

I've heard things about every province in Tamriel while playing Skyrim, even more than I did playing Oblivion. People from each race often mention their home province and there's usually stuff on the loading screen too.
Returning to Morrowind or Cyrodiil temporarily would be fun, just to see how much has changed over the couple of centuries since the time of Morrowind and Oblivion, which were only set a few years apart. Morrowind would be particularly interesting after the volcano erupted, and Cyrodiil has been forced to abandon one of its gods, Talos, by the Aldmeri Dominion.
I've just finished the College of Winterhold questline, which was very satisfying, and I might join the Companions next because I heard that's where one of the hotly anticipated returning features is.

Dreaming!!! They could just update the graphics for Cyrodill from Oblivion change quests etc. rebuild..Kvatch 3 years later
Just give me all of Tamriel... and it still would not be enough...

Meh - Iv'e already explored the hell out of Morrowind and Cyrodil. I'm not sure how hyped up I'd be to visit them again.
One of the main pleasures of the ES games are those opening hours venturing into a new world , a feat The Shivering Isles and Bloodmoon pulled of brilliantly and what with the visuals improving with each sequel a trip to a new region or unknown Daedric realm is infinitely more exciting than a slog back to Red Mountain.

Probably just there as scenery. Vvardenfell can't be too exciting after everything's been incinerated by lava. I guess the mainland's still a possibility but I reckon they'll give us something fresh. The whole thing with the Aldmeri Dominion reeks of foreshadowing, but I'm unsure that's set-up for DLC or future full installments.
I'm seeing a possible trip to Hammerfell as there is a city called Dragonstar on their border with Skyrim that is, or at least used to be, split between the two nations. It's absence from the game is a bit suspicious to me.

If the Imperial city is going to be DLC, we all know what this means right? The one thing i was begging for in Skyrim............ ARENA!

A trip to Hammerfell would be cool. but if they do add morrowind etc I wouldn't mind stamping round Cyrodil again would be sweet to see how it changed in 200 years
CunningSmile on 24 Nov '11 said:
It has been 200 years since the volcano. It would be reinhabited, regrown and a completely different place from in Morrowind. You're right about Dragonstar though, conspicuous by it's abscence.

Skyrim is set 200 years from Oblivion right as someone else said. Well I have just bumped into a character from Oblivion/Morrowind in Skyrim. I wont ruin it. But I think you can guess, looking a bit old though 200 years old Blimey!

that gate is nothing to get excited about. there is a gate to every single province that links with skyrim so i think the gates are just there for credibility reasons. you can even walk past one gate into hamerfell, assuming the gates work as a border. (south-west of falkreath, past halldir's cairn if you wanna check it out). however the white tower wich is present in the cyrodill landmass is unexplainable as i have yet to find a place to even catch a glimpse of it, also the gate in the pale pass (skyrim-cyrodill) is closed unlike every other gate which are open.

they should defently bring out the option to travel back to sovrngarde again, coz i think that was the most beuitiful area in the game

While exploring the borders of Skyrim (The ones to Cyrodiil). I came across another of those border gates, this one leading into Cyrodiil. I couldn't see past it because the gate had doors that couldn't even be activated to open, and the only way to kind of see over was a little slope a bit lower than the top of the gate. So I couldn't really see anything. I play on the Xbox, so no noclip for me! I have only found this unmarked gate, and the one by Stendarrs beacon. But as I said before, this one wasn't open like the one near Stendarrs beacon. Coincidence?

I already noticed Cyrodill (or at least the White Gold Tower) but I didn't notice Vvardenfell. I don't know if I want the DLC to be in those two provinces though, I'd prefer a re-visit to Stros M'Kai from TES Adventures: Redguard (a highly underrated game).
