Metal Gear Solid HD Collection release date pushed back

Snake and co targeting February release

Konami has announced that the Metal Gear Solid HD Collection, which includes revamped editions of Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 3 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, will hit Xbox 360 on 3rd February.

Originally down for release in November, the HD Collection spans two discs, and sports cleaned-up visuals. Also tucked away in the beast's folds: Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Hideo Kojima's top-down sprite-based originals.

"As such," opines Konami's press release, "Metal Gear Solid HD Collection offers old and new fans a chance to experience the epic game play, design and storytelling of the MGS franchise." Everybody shall love it. Everybody.

Sadly, the original Metal Gear Solid hasn't made the cut. Here's a trailer. Are you tempted to invest?

  1. I thought it was being released in November? Not that I mind. Still though.

  2. It was. Have edificated.

  3. Well there is no surprise here hey. Typical Konami keeping us waiting. Its like not we haven't played them before, we just wanna play them on the XBOX 360. Wait till February, it will get put back to summer then winter and then pulled altogether with a new release on the horizon, this is what you do Konami and don't deny it. This is why you can't make footie games, and the only great games you make are and is the Metal Gear series. Sort yourselves out Konami!!!

  4. Please please please let them add the original MGS in this time... it's a must for any fan!

  5. I'm not sure MGS1 can be done cos of the Psycho Mantis fight - how would we change controller ports when there are none?

  6. February hmmm worth waiting for me thinks would like the original MGS thrown in but as previously said the psycho mantis battle would be a tad difficult with wireless controllers, unless you turned another one on to confuse him....

  7. Erm, is number 4 not worth a shout? Why is it somewhat conspicuous by its absence? I'd say it's probably the best out of the series too, although the mgs 1 is my personal fave (as i suspect it is most peoples)...

It'd be around ten discs though wouldn't it? The Psycho Mantis fight, I have MGS on PC and I have NO IDEA how to defeat him, I heard maybe hitting the statues works, so maybe that would translate for xbox, though when I ring the colonel up he bangs on about switching controllers or pressing triangle... some port from PS this is lol :/

MGS1 is my favorite purely because that's the last time the plot made sense
