I thought it was only me! Hate previous DMC games but thought Enslaved was amazing, if a little repetative. As a result this is firmly on my radar despite nay sayers and bitter ex devs who run their own franchise into the ground (at least judging by reviews of later DMCs)

To be fair, Devil May Cry as a series couldn't recover from the crappy DMC2, which Capcom made without Hideki Kamiya's input or knowledge. That's why DMC3 was set before DMC1 and DMC4 was set between DMC1 and DMC2. A reboot was sorely needed. And Kamiya can hardly be bitter after he made the genre redefining Bayonetta.

It's early days yet, but I'm not sure I like Ninja Theory's art style and the combat doesn't look very smooth. And giving Dante a scythe after Dante's Inferno and Darksiders both used them heavily, it looks like they haven't done their research on the genre.

I love hack-and-slash games and DMC1 was the first. I'm a late-comer to the series, so I'm not as reverent about it, but I understand the people who flat-out hate what Ninja Theory have done. I'm trying to reserve judgement until there's more information available because I'm hoping that NT realise that DMC is all about style and fluid combat.

EDIT: Just watched the new trailer and the combat's looking better. Still not sure about the art style, though.

this so called dmc is a mess dante was cool his charactor and style was a wannabe rockstar now hes af**king goth during cutsceans does sniff glue and say how he hates everthing and wants to die this game wont sell if you don't listen to the fans they won't buy it . a lot of people didn't buy enslaved in protest of this monstosety capcom should have gave the game to someone who knows the series , if they needed a reboot why not just remake dmc 1,3 in to one game . hope the people who make this piece of shit get sacked and that the series survives this but i think this could be the end
CunningSmile dmc 1 was great 2 was shit 3 was the best 4 was average . so saying the later ones were ran in to the ground are untrue the only shit one is the 2 and this new one , enslaved is a average game with great graphics
