Gears of War 3 is the "biggest platform exclusive franchise on any platform this year", according to Microsoft's corporate vice president Phil Spencer.
"The thing about this E3, one of our key targets we want to hit is the blockbuster games that you want to play are on 360," Spencer told OXM at E3. "The biggest platform exclusive franchise on any platform this year will be Gears of War.
"We've always been an organisation that's focussed on impact with what we ship," he went on. "If you look at how our 1st party franchises sell, how many play online, the breadth of experience and frankly the number of units sold, our franchises do incredibly well relative to Sony's 1st party.
"And I think that will continue. That's just the consumers voting, saying what they think matters."

Much as I like GoW, Halo, there's not many other Xbox 360 exclusives out there which are as good. In fact... Fable 2/ Forza? I think they're the only ones I can name... Microsoft need to fund more stuff like Ryse, there needs to be some healthy competition between them and sony, otherwise we could end up with Sonic and Mario forever.

I don't like console exclusives. They seem to exist only for fanboys to taunt each other with. I don't mind games that Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo make themselves being exclusive, but the backroom deals that Sony were notorious for in the PS2 days to prevent other consoles getting a market share were pretty despicable.
Mario can do no wrong in my eyes, but there hasn't been a decent Sonic game for over a decade, as the recent article highlighted.

I just don't want a return to the days when you knew a game had been developed for your console, but some suit at Sony decided you couldn't have it for a year.
