Anybody that's spent any degree of time looking at Lara Croft's grittily muddied visage in the new Tomb Raider may have found themselves fatigued by the sheer bleakness of the imagery.
So what does the future hold for those that prefer their Lara to be more Carry On Raiding than Hostel? Players still hanging on to the mid-nineties girl-power optimism of pin-up Lara need not give up hope as Karl Stewart, Tomb Raider global brand director at Crystal Dynamics explains.
While Crystal Dynamics have all but locked down Lara's more realistic image for the foreseeable future of the core series, they are open to the idea of using the more traditional Croft if the project calls for it. "Guardian of Light was hugely successful for us and in that kind of space it might be an interesting thing for us to do in the future. They can both co-exist".
